U.S. Canvas & Awning, a premier Houston-based awning company has an opening for a dependable and hardworking Graphic Designer with the willingness to learn the rewarding canopy/awning industry and every aspect of the job. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for Graphic Design with 3D modeling/CAD rendering experience and takes attention to detail seriously. We are looking for candidates to work and grow with us for 5+ years. You will work in a fast-paced office environment and collaborate with sales and office, production staff daily.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create layouts and drawings by working directly with the sales team, production staff, and clients.

  • Support our production by producing manufacturing documents, files, and detailed 2D or 3D designs for projects

  • Read, evaluate, and mark construction blueprints and plans

  • Update and maintain website and ad campaigns

  • Collaborate with others to establish timelines as well as solve problems

  • Develop knowledge of industry, engineering, math, and materials

  • Ability to analyze data and situations to come up with creative solutions

  • Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards

  • Check design files for quality, correct issues, and provide proof

  • Create templates, images, and videos for website, promotional, or social media use.

  • Help to update websites and social media content.

  • Assist other seasonal office, warehouse, websites, marketing, or sales tasks as assigned by management.

  • Recommend potential products or services to management by analyzing customer needs.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

Key Requirements / Competencies

  • 2D & 3D Design, Drafting, Product rendering, and modeling skills required

  • Auto-CAD, Bluebeam, Adobe software, and other graphics-related software skills experience are a must

  • 2 years of graphic design customer service, sales, and marketing experience is required.

  • Computer and tech-savvy

  • Ability to read architectural blueprints and interpret sketches

  • Excellent collaboration/organizational skills along with a positive, "can-do" attitude, eager to learn and grow.

  • Must be highly organized, a strong multi-tasker, and have great attention to detail.

  • Can perform well in a fast-paced office environment under varying deadlines.

  • UX/UI and basic website design understanding preferred

  • HTML and CSS editing skills are a big plus

*We will train candidates in industry-specific material/ fabrication techniques. A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and reliability will be essential.

Position is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but not limited to this schedule.
