Wage: $16.00 & up (depending on experience)

Job Description:

U.S. Canvas & Awning, a premier Houston-based awning company has an opening for a Sales Associate with talent, initiative, and drive to join their team and have a development role in their growing organization. As a leader in the industry, we have a family-owned and operated environment, and strive to provide the best in quality products, and superior fabrication along with installation services driven by a client-centric approach. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to maintain our quality standards and manufacture our products. This includes welding aluminum frames and assembling products manufactured. We are a background-friendly team that believes in second chances.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate aluminum components, per printouts.

  • Fabricate components with minimal instruction.

  • Determine the best way to fabricate specific components.

  • Work with design staff.

  • Weld in a shop environment.

  • MIG aluminum welding awning frames

Key Requirements / Competencies

  • Aluminum MIG welding experience required

  • Push Pull MIG Welding (Pulse MIG a plus) experience

  • Pass the onsite weld test required to demonstrate skills and use of equipment.

  • Operate all shop equipment: MIG Welders, Iron Worker, Band Saws, etc. (non- negotiable)

  • Must be able to read and accurately measure within 1/16.”

  • Basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to perform precise measurements using tape measure, square, protractor, and digital levels.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 70 lbs. occasionally.

  • Knowledge of welding machine settings, wire feeds, other welding equipment and shielding gas requirements.

  • Experience in Layout & Fabricating.

  • Knowledge of shop tools.

Position is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but not limited to this schedule.
